Po Nagar Towers and Long Son Pagoda: visit both respectfully
Updated October 28, 2026 · 4 min read
Po Nagar and Long Son tell different parts of Nha Trang’s story. Po Nagar is a Cham temple complex on a hill above the Cai River; Long Son is an active Buddhist pagoda known for the large white Buddha reached by steps. They fit into one half-day, but neither should be treated as a quick costume backdrop.
At Po Nagar, cover shoulders and knees, lower your voice around worship and follow any instructions at the sanctuary entrances. The brick towers, inscriptions and river view reward a slower circuit. At Long Son, the climb is exposed and can feel harder in midday heat. Modest clothing and quiet behaviour matter there too, and footwear may need to come off in worship areas.
The half-day Nha Trang city tour by car lasts four hours, starts at €36.18 and has 89 reviews. It is useful if you want transport and context across several sights, but confirm the exact stops, admission and minimum booking requirement before paying.
Independent visitors can split the sites and spend longer at either one. Go early for cooler steps and fewer groups, carry water, and check current opening and worship restrictions locally. For a first visit with limited time, the half-day city tour is the practical choice.
