Its long urban beach, island-filled bay, snorkelling and diving around Hòn Mun, mud baths, Po Nagar Cham Towers and nearby waterfalls. The most bookable experiences are island boats, water activities, city tours, spas and Ba Hồ trips.
Many boat trips use Cầu Đá harbour in the south of the city, usually with hotel pickup. Read the meeting point: a tour advertised as Nha Trang may include a road transfer before boarding.
No. Hòn Mun is the usual coral and marine-park focus. Hòn Tằm is more often sold for its resort beach and mud-bath facilities. Multi-island tours may visit both, but for different reasons.
The road journey is roughly 130–140 km and commonly takes about 3–4 hours each way. A day tour is bookable, but it is a long mountain-road day rather than a nearby excursion.
It does not have an untouched, quiet city centre or immediate access to every famous Vietnamese destination. The main beach is urban, and places such as Đà Lạt and Mũi Né require substantial road time.
Vietnam Tourism describes January to August as the sunnier period for beach and island trips, with the wetter season generally from September to December. Operators can still change routes when sea conditions require it.
